Shadow Shots

Wow, what a week. I've been digging through those boxes of cards every night. i think I am going blind. Literally not physically of course, although my vision is slipping a bit. i used to have 20/20 not I can't read squat without reading glasses.  hopefully you folks won't have any problems seeing the shadows.

Easy one, Dolphin, Whale, or even a Shark if you like (especially with that shark-like grin).

I definitely remember doing this one before, Ginger Bread man, but not just any Ginger Bread man, the one from Shrek.

I can't make heads or tails out of this one, get it.

An extra large Pelican.

Another easy one,  a sitting Camel.

FRANKEN-FRIDAY: Update on the next Franken-Set

Well, it most definitely won't be January when I start posting the New "Franken-Set" (Jersey Numbers Edition). Why you ask? Way too easy, in fact I've had to tweek it a bit. I have most of the pre-50s done already either completed or near complete. The tweeking came in using only dupes and trying my hardest to not use the same card set on any one (front) page, and also not using the same team on any one page. Again, not perfect but I am trying really hard. This is a lot more FUN than I thought it would be. I can continuously update it too.  Yeah me... A lot of the pages already have a second page, and four have broken into a third, but I am storing those cards in a box. Many players have the same jersey number but with different teams which helps, so I store those in the back of the front card. I was able to do this much with just the dupes from a couple dozen sets. I can only imagine what it would be like if I had all of those boxes emptied and sorted. After, emptying the first 10 boxes, and stacking them all over. I haven't put a dent in them. Seriously, about 2 dozen sets, sorted so far with at least 200 more sitting in those stacks to be sorted. I am at a point where I just want to empty the remaining boxes and then resume sorting. There are some really cool sets or rather partial sets and most of them look to be near complete. IE: So far only 1 Jeter that I remember seeing. The sets range from Finest, Gold label, obviously Flagship everything, from 80s to 2012, with a handful of 70s and 2013 with a 2015 slipped in here and there.  Lots of Stadium club and Ultra. Even found a handful of Topps Tribute and other high end sets.  Well, no scans today just wanted to give the blog world an update and let you know Franken Friday will return soon.

Wacky Wednesday

Hump Day. Let us stare at some cards for a minute.

Not one but two Marlboro ads.

So that is what "Whistling Dixie" looks like.  All kidding aside, that is a pitcher standing/posing in the outfield.

The only non junk era Upper Deck card today, still from the era. What really caught my eye is what in the heck is that in the background. A Tent? A portable building?

Maybe it's a towel laying in the on deck circle.

Three for one.  *you know Nick has it*  Interview (microphone), signing, and kids. and go figure I didn't show the back and it ain't shabby either.

Oops, did I do that?  Ah um, wrong show that was Urkle/Irkle/Erkle.

The other half

Here is the other half from yesterday.

Some Gold Rush.

That Maddux card is the shizit.

I'm not a big fan of the Elite cards, but heck I don't have em so I need em.

Stadium Club Goodies.

These are really great cards.  I'm having as much fun looking at the scans as I did when I pulled them out on the box.

Not a dupe of Rocker, the one on the left is a Rant.

Definitely electrifying!

Are you ready for this?

Hmm? Ready for what? What has John gone and did now? Simple.....nothing! Last month I promised to limit the posts from the July card show to a weeks worth. Keep in mind that was beforehand when I was planning on bringing home 10K cards. I didn't hand pull that many, just filled one 5K box and a 930 count box and picked up a traded set (that I already had, dog gone it), and a couple of old wax boxes (95 Topps series 2 and a box of 1989 Bowman, again I don't know why). Of course, I also brought home another 100K cards from Bob vendor 1. Hehe.  But I will try my best to stick to as few posts as possible. In fact, I am absolutely trying to limit it to only a few or so. I traded away 1 box before I ever made it home, so there is 5K gone. I have sort of unpacked 10 of those boxes, and also sifted through the box of hand pulled cards. Sifting? Yes, I went through and grabbed cards for sets that I currently have a written want list for, and I pulled the Braves which made up close to 20% of the box. I then put that box away in storage for now. Todays' post is going to show half of the Braves cards (from the hand pulled box) for the HEFTY want list (I will check them off later tonight). Probably show the other half tomorrow.

These cards came from the quarter boxes which I paid .04 cent each.

SAMPLE....

Yes, I needed at least one of all of these, go figure. Good thing I was grabbing dupes, trips, etc....

Yeah I also packed that hand pulled box with close to a hundred of those Legendary Cuts, but from different sets.

Love Ovation. Want them all!

I know some of these should have never been in a quarter box, good thing I paid .04, huh.

Horrible crop job, Johnny!

Three refractors.

Some International needs always good. BTW, am I the only one who Hxtxs scanning Chrome cards?

Last one for today. The center card of Andruw has me puzzled. It is from the 1998 Rookie Traded set, and it is a Showcase series, but the numbering is RTPP18.. Will have to look it up on Beckett I guess, unless one of you folks know why.
